NSA Employee Spotlight: Brandon T.
Title
Manager of Laboratory Operations
How long have you worked for NSA?
I have worked at NSA for 11 years
What are your responsibilities at NSA?
My responsibilities at NSA include pretty much every aspect of what we do in the lab from checking in brains, embedding, sectioning, staining, mounting. I also keep everyone in the lab updated in their training, and I am responsible for all of the scheduling in the lab. I find it very helpful to be “cross-trained” at multiple tasks at NSA, because this is a unique workplace and having expertise in all the steps needed to process multiple tissues allows me to be a part of our client’s work from the beginning. Often, I know the expectations of the client before their tissue arrives at our facility, which ensures they are getting the highest quality work possible.
What do you like most about NSA?
I really enjoy the workplace environment at NSA. Dr. Bob and Julie Switzer are the best employers I have ever worked for. They strive for excellence in both their employees and the work we produce. They have put together a team of great people who are not just co-workers, but have become friends which I believe has been a key factor in NSA’s success.
What are your interests outside of work?
I really enjoy the outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing. I also enjoy watching my sons play sports.
