NSALabs® is the service division of NeuroScience Associates. The mission of NSALabs® is to assist our clients in various phases of an experiment to ensure reliable results in the most cost effective and timely manner possible. We provide histologic processing of specimens as well as consulting expertise. Our histologic methods are state-of-the-art due to the foundation of our techniques in MultiBrain® processing and our many years focused on thequality execution of neurohistology. Clients send brain and/or spinal cord tissue with which NSALabs® performs MultiBrain®/ MultiCord® embedding and sectioning as well as designated staining. NSA returns finished stained slides and/or free floating MultiBrain®/MultiCord®  sections to the client. NSA is proficient at traditional staining techniques and specializes in the development and execution of numerous specialty stains. Our consulting expertise leverages the many years of experience of Dr. Robert C. Switzer III and his colleagues to provide sound planning advice and analysis.

Embedding and Sectioning Technologies

Learn the principles and practical applications of MultiBrain® Technology, the enabling high throughput techniques offered only at NSALabs®. MultiBrain® Technology refers to proprietary techniques employed by NSALabs® which allow us to embed up to 25 rodent brains in a single block. MultiBrain® allows us to provide unique capabilities and superior quality at a lower cost than with many traditional methods.

Histology Staining

NSALabs® performs many standard AND proprietary specialized stains as well as an ever growing list of antibodies. See a list species that are routinely processed by NSALabs®.

Experiment Design and Consultation

We offer some free, basic design and planning information in our Protocols section for some basic procedures to follow for a neurodegeneration study. The broad expertise of Dr. Switzer, associates at large, and NSA is also available as a fee based solution to assist with the planning, design and evaluation of your studies.

Analysis

We offer both quantitative and qualitative analysis of various stains. We also offer live, online training and joint evaluation of image results through our WebEx powered collaboration tool.
