You may contact NSA via email or phone, requesting a quote specific to your order. The following types of information will be necessary to complete your custom quote:

Species: Mouse, rat, human, etc.

Type of Tissue: Brains, spinal cords, etc.

# of Tissues: Inform NSA if your work is part of a larger project - you may qualify for a volume discount. Currently, we can embed coronally up to 16 rat brains, 25 mice brains, 4 marmoset monkey brains, etc. in our standard individual ‘block’. Contact us for information on other species and on larger blocks accommodating up to an entire human brain hemisphere. To maximize the efficiencies and cost savings of MultiBrain^TM services, we recommend you ‘fill’ the block as much as possible. Once embedded, the cost difference between a half-filled block and fully-filled block is minimal, thus the cost to you for additional tissues is nominal.

Status of Tissue: Will you remove the brains from the skull or will NSA do so?

Orientation: Coronal (most common), sagittal (common for transgenic AD mice), horizontal, or combination - you choose

Thickness of Sections: Although most clients NSA’s recommended thickness by species, occasionally the need arises for thinner or thicker sections. Contact us to discuss your specific needs.

Staining: Which stains would you like performed? NSA can assist you in determining which stains will be optimal.

Future Staining: NSA collects all cut sections, creating a “Resource of Sections”. It is important to specify potential future stains so that we will store the tissues in the optimal solutions for those particular stains.

Image Analysis: NSA specializes in Alzheimer’s, Ischemia (stroke models) and Degenerative Analysis. See analysis.

GLP: NSALabs® is GLP compliant. If the study has GLP requirements, additional procedures will be followed.

Nature of Project: Although not required, we often are able to provide helpful information on the effectivity of various techniques and stains, specific to your area of interest.

Payment Options (all services)

NSA accepts VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, wire transfers and electronic payments.

Payments are due 30 days after the completion of work, after which time interest accrues at 2% per month. Prepayments allow for a deduction of 2% from the invoice. Payments made within 15 days of completion earn a 2% credit to be applied to future work.
